A Golden Gryphon’s Pride is awarded to outstanding youth in the Kingdom of Artemisia. At Solstice 2015 Miss Maddi was awarded her’s and I was asked to do the illumination and calligraphy. Since it is a youth award I wanted to illuminate a baby gryphon, and because Maddi’s favorite color is blue the little gryphon had to be blue. The calligraphy is Chancery Italic.
